Gone were the days when people gave each other tapes or CD. Surrounded by consuming music, I still want to keep the emotional and memorable feature of music. One Song is a bluetooth speaker with special function that when you put in the pendant which embedded a song, the speaker will recognize the music and play with beautiful effects, including warm lights and rotating stand.

It's time to embrace digital music
Data shows that digital music has won its place in Chinese market during these years. In 2015, digital music created 24909 billion RMB while the value created by album selling was only 279.5 billion RMB. Chinese music industry is facing new opportunities as well as challenges.
Beyond Technique
Large companies chase high definition audio quality and explore new material and shape, while smaller companies or new enters mainly focus on multi-function and intelligent system. The appearance of digital music has put forward the development of sound technology. However, in lack of an unsustainable business model, many speaker companies are facing a bottleneck.
How can speaker companies take advantage of digital music and make breakthrough?
For most of us, it's the song that counts
Based on literature study, 56 questionnaires answers and 10 interviews, I find out what really touches people is not the quality of music, but the emotional value of it. In another word, it's the song that counts. Some music also has souvenir value that a piece of familiar melody can easily bring people back to the memories. This answers why people used to give CD and tapes for the loved ones and why there are still people giving away vinyl records while it's very convenient to listen to music online. It also indicates physical carriers for music are needed to reserve the emotion and souvenir value.

One song is a music gift-giving service for Chinese market. Products include customizable music pendant and bluetooth speaker which could recognize the song within the pendant. Inspired by music box, the idea is to transform the metallic cylinder into a pendant. Users can choose a melody from our website and receive a customized pendant which contains the song inside. When users put the pendant into the speaker, with NFC technique, the song would be recognized by the speaker. One Song in Chinese refers to two meanings - "a call" and "for the whole life".
